This week we are talking about our most anticipated reads of Spring 2018. There are a lot so we (mostly) kept it to five a piece plus one kinda dubious pick from the both of us. We’re also talking about our current reads and what we’ve got coming up next.
This week we’re discussing (in the most non-spoilery way we could manage, because y’all should definitely pick up a copy) Alyssa Cole’s phenomenal historical romance An Extraordinary Union. But first, we’re talking all about our current reads (and how we’re both in a bit of an original fiction rut, so lot’s of fanfiction recs again this week). And of course we’ll be wrapping up with what we have coming up next.
The time has finally come for our most fangirly of episodes: Hannibal. This darkly beautiful show is about a cannibalistic serial killer and the team that works with and will eventually catch him, and we seriously have no idea how this show ever aired on NBC. But we’re glad it did. We talk the show, the lovely fandom, and our favorite fics. As always, we also talk about what we’re currently reading and what we have coming up next.
This week we’re talking about Cat Sebastian, our favorite m/m historical writer, and her latest book, The Ruin of a Rake. There’s a lot of happy sighing and flailing happening. We also talk our current favorite and least favorite reads (Kay continues to fail at finding new contemporary YA to read, so feel free to rec your favorites) and what we’re up to in the coming weeks.
This week we’re doing something a little different. We’ll be discussing our current favorite reads, as per usual, but we’re also going to give you an introduction to AO3/Archive of Our Own, our favorite fanfiction/fanworks archive. We’ll share our tips and tricks for finding the perfect fics for you and how to get the most out of the user interface. It’s a lot more fun that it sounds!
This week we’re digging into a YA novel about one of our favorite Spideys, Miles Morales. We talk about our deep love of Jason Reynolds, our deep hatred of that terrible cover, and also about our current reads and recommendations.
